FAMILY PROGRAMME

ADAS runs a family programme which takes place once a week and is facilitated by a counsellor who is specially trained in family issues.

When a client enters the programme, family members, or partners, or significant others, are personally contacted by the family counsellor and offered the opportunity of an interview. The counsellor listens to the family members and then describes the structured family programme before inviting them to join. The programme includes workshops, interactive lectures and group therapy.

One to one sessions are also available to family members to process personal or sensitive issues in a more private environment. The family group is co-facilitated by a member of a self-help group respected for their experience for family related illness and recovery from dependency issues. The volunteer in this group is one of forty volunteers on our rota.
